Garda Vetting

Your Question

where do i get garda vetted

Answer

Hello there, you’re very welcome to Ask Alex!

You are asking where to get Garda vetted.

If you are applying to work or volunteer with children, young people under the age of 18 or vulnerable adults, in Ireland, you must be Garda vetted. Garda vetting is a legal requirement in Ireland. The vetting shows whether you have or have not a criminal offence or are a danger to those people mentioned above.

The organisation that you are applying to, will send you a link to their e-vetting application form. However, if you prefer, or are under the age of 16 years, there is a paper form that can be used. Also, under 16s must have parental consent before applying for Garda vetting.

You can find out more about Garda vetting here www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employment/employment-rights-and-conditions/data-protection-at-work/garda-vetting/.

We wish you well in your new role,

Alex
