Summary

Puberty is the process that happens to young people, usually from the age of around 12 or 13. This video and article will help you understand a bit more about what puberty has in store for you, and how to navigate this transformational time in your life!  

Understanding Puberty

When you begin to go through puberty, you might have a number of questions. 

You might ask:

  • What changes can I expect?
  • How will it affect my body?
  • How long will it last for?
  • What can I do if it doesn’t happen for me?
  • What can I do if I am different?
Things you may experience during puberty
  • Your body growing
  • Your body changing shape and appearance
  • Your voice deepening (especially if you are a boy)
  • Unusual feelings
Feelings and emotions

It is understandable to have lots of different feelings and emotions as you grow up. You might feel happy, angry, sad, confused, lonely, frustrated or upset. You might feel worried about how your body is changing.

Support is available 

You are not alone. You have the right to get support.
